Edging towards Easter

Me enjoying myself in the studio this morning (a weird selfie photo!!)

Its Sunday afternoon and thank goodness it has been a quiet weekend. I'm just waiting to go for a walk with Jane, and I've spent the day sorting out my clothes (Mark bought me some new clothes racks) and making my next large bird for the glass exhibition (my existing large birds are a bit rough so they are prototypes rather than the final thing).

I've got seven weekends left before I need to submit photos of my pieces, which might sound a lot but, because I usually fire these pieces 2-3 times, and I only get time for firing on the weekend, in fact it is not long at all! I should be okay so long as everything goes well and I dont have stuff ups.

A brief update on the kids:

Talia - just back from a volunteer weekend down south with uni camp where she had a good time. We are doing a mock interview shortly because she's applying for a part-time job with road safety (will be good for her health promotion career). She is seeming quite happy at the moment.

Melissa - has been here today, working on applications overseas. She wants to do a masters in org psych in Europe. Mark and I helped her with a timed test today for one application - it was hard, even for two professors in psychology! Melissa is doing well but at risk again for overdoing it - currently she has two job offers (one selling pearls - they absolutely loved her in the interview; another one selling balloons), two existing jobs (one helping run blind date nights for couples, one selling pre-mixed cocktails), and is currently doing three units, an internship at work (she did another pilot of her game this week), and socialising a lot. Yes - its too much, so we're hassling her as we dont want a repeat of her weird-anxiety stuff.

Melissa - she is very confident presenter!
Melissa - running a trial of the SMART redesign game at work

Suzy - havent spoken to her since her birthday. Oops, correction, I spoke to her today but she has lost her voice so it was a short call. She's doing well, but is worried she's getting sick again (Melbourne weather). She enjoyed the postcards, stickers, business cards I made out of her titktok's for her birthday, and she's occasionally still doing new cartoons. A recent one below, which has the title "Me after one sip of alcohol, and I mean it every time".

In wider family news, Warren / Wayne are both desperately trying to get fuel and fertiliser (bloody Trump and the pointless Iranian war), Warren bought Dad a new gopher as Dad's feet are swelling up and it's hard for him to walk, and Jess and Julie are having a marvellous time in Vietnam.  Looking forward to seeing everyone at Easter in about 2 weeks time.

Main social event this week has been catching up with Sandy and Amanda, visiting from Calgary. On Friday night we had drinks then dinner at Hearth (also with the Dean of the Calgary Business School, Gina, and Marylene) and then last night it was just Sandy, Amanda and myself at Matilda Bay restaurant. I have known Sandy for probably 30 years (wow!) so it is always great to see her.

This week I'm off to Sydney for a Design for Care meeting followed by a keynote presentation at a big health conference. Easter is not far away!
