I love weekends

 12 Viewway, Nedlands, WA, 6009

It is our second weekend at home, and its so great just to  potter around!

I swam almost 3km this morning, and then had pilates, which is my routine for every second Saturday. I always feel so virtuous on these days, and today was no exception! Consequently, no guilt at all watching Bridgeton whilst out in the studio...  I then attempted a sleep, and did some tidying around the garden.

There is SO much work to do around this house and yards!  I keep thinking if I do a little bit each weekend, we will get on top of things, but I think we need just a full week at home working intensively every day....

In the absence of that ever happening,  we had a garden person come this week and give a quote on a redesign and clean up of our front and back yard. Very happy to agree to this! We've also had our roof fixed, finally, after waiting months. We can now get ceilings done and then we are going to replace cupboards in kitchen. I am feeling very motivated to get the house in order :-)

In other activities.... brief catch up with Kaylene during the week when she moved Didi into her flat, drinks on Wednesday night to say goodbye to one of our visitors followed by dinner with another visitor; a lovely walk with Jane along the river last night; and thats about all I can recall. A very busy week with too many meetings. Next week looks a bit better, for which I am grateful!

Drinks at Garum on Wednesday

Karina presenting at the MARS event - we're trying to get more funding from them so we were both there trying to showcase our work. It went wells so we're optimistic

Talia is back from Japan, having had a fabulous time, but now getting prepped to start again at Curtin. Suzy is preparing to head back to Melbourne next week. And Melissa is gearing up for resuming her Masters in Business. Her anxiety seems better, and she's looking into possibly trying ADHD medication (despite her diagnosis when she was young, we never went down the drug route, but we've all decided its worth a go). Meantime, Didi has moved into a lovely flat in Caporn street, a couple of blocks away. Sunday night, tomorrow, we are planning to all go out to dinner to say goodbye to Suzy.

Talia in Japan, seemed to meet plenty of people

Have put the back on my Tree of Life and I really like it now. I think its one of my best pieces!

Now its really finished, and ready to give to Sue for hanging. I like it so much I am thinking of making one for the next glass exhibition.

A new bird - its based on a pigeon we saw in the Pilbara, forgotten its name! But it had feathers sticking up out of its head as shown here!

A rather quick bird made from the scraps of the Tree of Life
