Bus from Bow Bridge to Perth, 7 Jan 2025

The bay - have just had several perfect days with no wind
As per the header, I have just caught the bus from Bow Bridge to Perth - an 8.5 hour trip! I was lucky enough to have the seat to myself so was able to get a little bit of work done. Less than planned, but not zero.
I have come back to Perth because last week I discovered an abscess on my front tooth, then learned how problematic an abscess is, so ended up - after an emergency appointment in Albany - having to book an urgent root canal appointment up here at my normal dentist. I've been on antibiotics all week.
It is a good thing I did come back to the house because Talia and Melissa are both now away and I found the air conditioner left on, two (out of four, so 50%) doors left unlocked, something extremely smelly in the fridge, and the pool in great need of more water. Aaah!
Anyway, going back a few weeks.,. after Boxing Day in Albany, Melissa, Mark, Suzy and myself came out to Peaceful Bay. Melissa stayed just a couple of days then left to get back to Perth. Yesterday she flew to Japan, where she is travelling for 3 weeks with Alex. Talia is doing volunteer work, this time helping to look after disadvantaged kids on a camp. Mean time, we've just been at Peaceful Bay relaxing...

My goal has been, each day, to swim, do either yoga or pilates, do an hour of work, do some glass work (either mosaic, lampwork, or stained glass, although not getting on too well with the last of these), and do some reading. I have been pretty much achieving these goals every day, although have missed my hour of work quite often (which is ok too... I'm just trying to get my never-ending book finished).
Mark has been mowing, painting, fixing things up, and of course singing/playing his guitar. I believe he has been down the beach to fish once!
Suzy has been doing a bit of walking, felting, jigsaws, making animations, reading (very sporadically), and one swim with me.

Nice note I found someone had left on the outside table of the house!

Doing some quick birds for relatives

Mark, more work... has painted this side of the house as its been exposed to the sun and rain.
I just had the idea of doing a shoal of fish on it as a new project. Ran out of space on the front wall!
So far, other than Julie and Matilda who came down on Tuesday (Matilda is teaching swimming lessons), its been quiet. All the farmers are still harvesting. But the quiet time has been rather precious, especially as its going to change. Carol and Bruce come down next week, as do some of the people Mark has lined up to perform in a Peaceful Bay music concert. So achieving my daily goals will probably go out the window, but thats fine too as I know we'll be doing other pleasant things.
