Back to Routine (6 Oct 2025)
Monday, 12 Viewway.
As the title says, this past ten days has been all about getting back into usual routine.
Re work-routine, I am finding it very psychologically difficult to get into it. My normal sense of pressure and obssessive list-checking-off has just not been activated. I am struggling to care about work much, which has the consequence of making it hard to be disciplined. A case in point: I am writing this blog on my 'working from home' day!
Re-exercise routine, it was exceptionally mentally challenging getting up to swim at 545am the last two Saturdays. However I did it and, unfortunately, have hurt my back because I probably went a bit too hard, especially at pilates. Amazing how much the muscles have regressed in the past ten weeks or so....
Re-friend routine, it has been great to catch up with friends and colleagues. Nice dinner with Jane and also great tapas bar on Friday night with bookclub (Duende is name of restaurant, for future remembering). Excellent chat with Carol B. Plus the one nice thing about work has been catching up with everyone.
Re-kid routine, all seem to be doing well. Talia has just found out she has a volunteering job in Dunsborough during leavers, helping yound kids stay healthy and not drink too much. Melissa has - at the other end of the spectrum- just signed up for a job selling cocktails. Suzy is finishing an assignment and doing well (looking forward to seeing her when I go to Melbourne next week).
Re-house routine, I have gotten a bit distracted as decided to clean out the VERY messy and spider-ridden cubby house. It will be a store for some of the glass things in my studio as I have run out of space...
Cubby - after three spider bombs. Still a long way to go...
Re-glass routine, I have really enjoyed getting back into my glass without the pressure of sending it to a gallery! First on my post-leave project list was a thank you present for Trevor and Chrissie (who hosted us in Kununnara), shown below, in honour of Chrissie's love of flowers!
Pilbara flowers (mulla mulla - pink, the "cockroach bush"- yellow and brown, sturt peas - red and black; the yellow ones I have forgotten name).
Close up
OK better get back to work now!
